We’re the Sons of Pitches, and we’re coming to town!
Oh yeah, we’re headed to the European Film Market in Berlin, staying from 16th to 20th, promoting our brand-new slate, meet friends, get wasted and all that jazz. This year, our focus is to start introducing the main host of our brand-new films, TV-series, and documentaries to the international markets.
2022 was a busy year for us. Timo released a feature film Jeepers Creepers: Reborn, and shot another one, 97 Minutes (coming later this year, with Alec Baldwin and Jonathan Rhys-Meyers). Tero produced a crowdfunding success story slash swissploitation feature film Mad Heidi, which took the genre festivals by a storm.
We also collaborated with Southeast Finland Film Commission, producing a fun little promo video for them, and spreading out their message of production opportunities and incentives around the world!
But most importantly, we turned our eyes into the future and begun thinking of the road ahead. In our minds, our future is split between three main categories: TV-series, documentaries, and feature films.
On the TV front, we’ve had great pleasure to work with comic book creator turned into a film producer and screenwriter Andrew Cosby, with whom we are developing our flagship – or should I say, battleship – RED PLANET. It’s a TV series about Communists on Mars, and it’s all things batshit insane, huge, and politically incorrect.
We also teamed up with Finnish success story MC HELPER, a bunch of guys from bumf*ck nowhere in Finland who’ve been doing this really cool comedy about a moped gang called Helvetin Perkeleet (short, MC HelPer) – which translates freely into Devils From Hell.
And last-but-not-least - we’re also cracking open the book series UNDERTAKER by a prolific Finnish Nordic crime writer Marko Kilpi. In the show, we meet undertaker Kivi, who - in addition to his daytime job dealing with dead bodies, is dealing death, and leaving bodies behind as the head of an International Drug Cartel. He acquires young economics student Maria as his partner, who, unbeknownst to her, gets tangled up to the world of international crime.
Feature-wise, our eyes are set on a big price, GONE TO SEE THE RIVER MAN, a script we fell in love with and really want to make. It’s pitch-black psychological horror film taking place in the US, written by Kristian Triana, based on his wildly successful novel by the same name.
We also have a super-cool pitch called THE SCOUT, about a film crew that sets out on a scouting trip – only to find they’re soon the subject of a really nasty horror film, one where everything they ever could imagine, is real.
Oh yeah, and documentaries! That’s how we started, originally, producing SHOOT FOR THE MOON, a Tuomas Tuppurainen documentary about the struggles of the Iron Sky Productions. Now, we’re upping the bets and hitting the market with DEPRESSED AND PROUD – a documentary about the happiest country in the world, that doesn’t exist – Finland.
